Japan summer Forest
green season

Spring, summer and autumn each have their unique beauty in Hokkaido and all are well worth experiencing.

The sakura (cherry blossoms) in spring are a must see, as are the momiji (maple leaves) in autumn.

Hokkaido, due to its northern latitude, has different timings to mainland Japan for both sakura and momiji events so this allows guests to experience these stunning natural phenomenona outside of the peak tourist periods.

Summer is the true green season when nature explodes into life and local farms are delivering produce in abundance, which you need to taste to truly experience the flavours of Hokkaido.

The green season is also festival season and doesn't Hokkaido love a festival! You will find something on most weekends celebrating local and national traditions.
